“For the first time in four years local independent bookseller, books @ Hoddesdon, has produced its own limited edition calendar for Hoddesdon and Broxbourne after being shown the work of a talented local photographer.
The calendar features 12 full colour photos of the local area which have been altered with software to give them a luminous quality which makes them look like paintings.
Shop co-owner Stephen Poulter explains: “We had local calendars produced in the first two years we were here, but after selling out in 2005 we saw sales drop so markedly the following year we haven’t been able take the risk since.
“However, when Ramon Remenyi came into my shop and showed me some of his pictures of the town I was so impressed with his unique style that I knew they would look really great in a calendar and so I commissioned him to take more.”
Ramon is a young Hungarian who recently moved to Hoddesdon with his wife Daniella after living in London for almost five years. They wanted to move out of the city into a small peaceful town which was within easy commuting distance.”
